It seems that people are very creative when it comes to the simplest detail of weddings. Place cards, they are the first thing each guest looks for when they arrive to the reception. People like to know where they are sitting and who they are sitting with. For my wedding we had our cocktail hour outside, and also the table containing the place cards. The problem was if it was really windy paper place cards would blow all over the place. So we decided to write each guests name and table on a river rock, they were heavy enough to endure the wind, and they made a neat keepsake for guests. There were not very many rocks/ place cards left when the wedding was over. I have also attended a wedding in the fall that had carmel apples with the place card attached. It doubled as the favor, and everyone enjoyed them. They looked great when you entered the reception and saw this great display of carmel apples. When it comes to place cards think outside the box and have fun with them.
